A Day of Horses and Errands

Horse and Oliver (Look at the flowers in his hand,
he smells them, and then gives them to Grandma)

Happy Horse Oliver

We watch the horses leave on the trail

Today was busy, that is how Oliver likes them! We went for a really nice run in the morning and on the way back we saw 4 horses! The last 2, we have met before. The riders remember Oliver and they let the sweet horse say hello. The horse licked Mama's hand and was curious about Oliver. Oliver loves horses.
Afterwards Oliver ate lunch with Bhuta. They both enjoyed yummo avocado. Oliver even got to cut his up on his own! Then we got ready and went on a bunch of errands. We were out at Oliver's dinner time, so Mama ordered him a hot dog on a stick at the mall. He watched the girl make it, and he ate the whole thing! It took him awhile, but he really, really enjoyed it.
Later at home he helped me bring things inside and he gave his Aunt Katy some warm hugs. Then he laid with his daddy for about 10 minutes and started to fall asleep. Oliver is learning that Daddy is just as warm and inviting as Mama is! He is sleeping now, dreaming of beautiful sunny days and horses the color of chocolate.

Active Man

Eating dinner yesterday at Grammies.

Playing with his armpit, he is starting to find the
more obscure body parts now.

Today we had a nice day. We went to swim in the morning, Oliver is getting good at kicking his legs and blowing bubbles. He can't wait for Daddy to take him to swim class soon! He played with kids for a little while afterwards while Mama exercised. Then we did a couple of errands. He fell asleep on the way home so we had a nice nap today.

He played with his Grandma and ate some of her yummy carnitas. He visited with Bhuta afterwards, climbing all over Grandma's bed and then ate a fudgesicle which he really enjoyed.

We cleaned up his toy room and he had fun playing with a bunch of his toys in our room. He parked his train and his red car right next to each other. He had a bit of a tantrum when we were cleaning up after dinner, Mama thinks it was a mix of toddlerhood and tiredness. He is alright now. Sleeping soundly.

Our Wish

This song came out around the time I was preggers with Oliver. Mike and I love it, and it is our song to little man, and our wishes for his little life.

My Wish

By Rascal Flatts

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow, And each road leads you where you wanna go, And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you. And if one door opens to another door closed, I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window, If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile. But more than anything, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget, All the ones who love you, in the place you left, I hope you always forgive, and you never regret, And you help somebody every chance you get, Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake, And always give more than you take. But more than anything, yeah, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish. Yeah, yeah.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish (my wish, for you).

This is my wish (my wish, for you)I hope you know somebody loves you (my wish, for you).May all your dreams stay big (my wish, for you).

Beautiful Saturday

Little Excited gardener

Watering the newly planted flowers

Two redheads busy, busy....

Today Oliver got to spend some time with Daddy in the morning, they drank juice together. When Mama came down, Oliver had a grape juice mustache! Oliver got to hang out with Grammie for a bit while Daddy and Mama went to their "almost theirs" new house. When Mama came to pick Oliver up, we went for a long run in Grammie's neighborhood, Oliver slept on the run. We hung out with Grammie for a bit longer and then came home to plant some flowers in the backyard. Mama finally finished her task that she started last weekend. Daddy and Oliver watered the flowers after Mama planted them. Oliver fell asleep soon after. He had a fun day.

Then he visited with his Bhuta and showed him his bebo. Bhuta liked that. Oliver loves his Bhuta. Afterwards Oliver got in his jammies and went to bed.

Eye Goobers

Being silly in the locker room at the Y after swim

He transferred easily from the stroller to
the carseat.

Today Oliver woke up in a laughing mood. He thought it was really funny when I commented on his eye goobers. He thought that was the funniest word ever! We went to swim and Oliver was really working on his kicking and splashing. After he got to play with Danielle and meet her Grandparents from New York! After the Y, we went to REI and got the stroller's tire fixed. Oliver had fun looking at all the bikes and he picked out a new ball cap that his head will grow into. Then we went running at the Batiquitos Lagoon. Oliver said "lagoon" as we pulled into the parking lot. He fell asleep on the way back, it was a beautiful day today.
After his nap we went to the book store and then went home to do some gardening. Oliver had fun playing in the backyard and exploring, and helping Mama a little. Mama had fun getting dirty, and getting an area ready for some beautiful flowers. We had fun working outside, and Oliver helped brush off the dirt from Mama's legs.
He ate a good dinner, was a bit fussy because of his short nap, so he fell asleep quickly after dinner. He had a nice day.

Friends and Grammie

Sliding at the Y- We were waiting
for Dani and Eileen and Oliver kept
saying, "Danielle is coming."

Good Friends

He looks like Daddy in all of these pictures

Watching the workers

Today was a nice day. Oliver and Mama went to swim in the morning and he got to play with Danielle in the pool and out of the pool. They are such sweet friends. Afterwards Oliver got to pick his snack from the vending machine. Usually, Mama picks it for him and he puts in the money and presses the buttons. Today, the ritz crackers were dispensed and Oliver got very upset. He wanted chips! So, I let him choose what he wanted. He ate a bag of baked doritos. He is really letting me know what he wants and it is pretty cute that he knows how to choose at the vending machine!

After the Y we went for a really nice run at the Batiquitos Lagoon, then grocery shopping, home, and then to Grammie's. Oliver got to spend a few hours with Grammie while Mama went to have her hair done. When she came to pick him up, he said "haircut" and tried to tell me I had pretty hair, thank you baby... We spent some more time with Grammie and then came home to sleep. It was a nice day.

Potty, Grammies, and Ricos

"Practicing" using the Toilet

Drinking Horchata and eating
olives at Ricos

Oliver had a great day. He ate pancakes for breakfast and then we went for a nice cool, windy run in the morning. Oliver has been practicing using the toilet, he hasn't quite gotten the concept of actually going in the toilet but he likes to sit and "practice" he says tinkle when he is sitting on the toilet. He also knows how to put his special seat on and take it off. And he loves the new stool we picked up at Ikea last night. Hopefully he learns the toilet concept soon.

After our run and the toilet adventures, Oliver went to Grammie's so Mama and Daddy could play soccer. After Grammie's house we came home and took a fabulous nap. He woke up pretty late, and we hung out for awhile and then picked up Ricos for dinner. He loves the bells the guys ring for him at the counter and he always helps Mama pay. He knows he gets olives there and loves them!
We ate dinner with Daddy and then hung out a bit then went to sleep. It is cool tonite so Oliver picked out his warm moose pajamas, he is sleeping soundly!

Nature Center and Ikea

Sleeping after a long good day

Oliver had a wonderful day. He spent most of the morning and the afternoon with his Daddy. They went to a Nature Center Fesitval at the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon, and got to see Owls, Hawks, and Native California plants. They came home and slept for a really long time.

When Oliver woke up Mama fed him some snacks and then we went to Ikea. We called Aunt Jessica to see if she wanted to come along, and she said yea!!!! So we picked her up on the way, and had fun eating dinner in the cafeteria and getting ideas for our new house! Oliver had so much fun playing on all the furniture and he totally liked the toddler beds, whichis good because he is going to get one very, very soon. He also loved the tent that goes over the bed, he is going to get one of those too!!! He is fast asleep now dreaming about what his new room is going to look like!

**I took a cute pic of Daddy and Oliver napping and tons of really, really cute pictures at Ikea, but they all got erased on my camera because of technical difficulties. Mama is sad.****

Such a kissable face

Oliver woke up today and cuddled with Daddy for awhile. (I saw them cuddling in the other room together, it was so cute! They don't know I was watching them!) Then Mama and Daddy went to work and Oliver got to play at Stephanie's. We met Aunt Jessica after school for a nice cool run at the Batiquitos Lagoon. Then we came home to eat dinner and play with Daddy. We had to leave again and Oliver helped Mama get some essentials at Henry's and print school things at Grammie's. Sharing crayons at Cafe Encinitas
Oliver had a wonderful green day! We went for a nice walk along Neptune St., leaving from Moonlight Beach. The houses along Neptune are really neat! Afterwards we took the kiddos to Cafe Encinitas and ate Corn Beef and Cabbage, yummo. Oliver liked it, and he also liked crawling all over and under the table. Danielle had fun laughing at Oliver.
After we came home and took a great nap, then went to the Y. Oliver played at the Childwatch center while Mama exercised for a little bit, and then we went to swim class! Oliver was a little clingy in the pool, he was getting tired. After we drove home, ate dinner and went to bed. Nice beautiful St. Patrick's Day!

Vulture on our new street (Johnston Road)
Oliver had a really good day. We slept till about 7:30. He played with Daddy for a bit, had a really good breakfast and then we were off for swim. Oliver hopped in the pool and was greeted by his good friend, Danielle. They made tons of splashes in the pool together. After they played on the playground for awhile, and then we were off for a run at the Batiquitos Lagoon. Oliver ate his lunch in the stroller and we saw a baby king snake on the trail! It was black with yellow rings, really pretty! We came home and took a really nice nap.
After his nap he had a snack and talked to Bhuta and Grandma. He was showing them all the animal sounds he can make! He also fed Toots an apple... In the late afternoon he helped me get some items at Henry's. As soon as we parked in the lot he said, "Cart!" He knows they have the little kid carts. He is a professional at it! He did not stray, he always stayed with me. He would put the items in the cart and also helped put them on the checkstand. He paid with a card and helped me sign. Then he put the bag in the cart, then put the cart away and carried the bag to the car. He had a lot of admirers!!!
Then we were off to Grammie's he played a lot with her (Mama and Daddy went on a date to see their new house and go see things at Home Depot), they went to the school and played on the Kinder playground and when we picked him up he was sitting on the couch with Grammie and his fire engine. He is such a cutie patooty.

A Day with Mama

Trying on Mama's and Daddy's Soccer Shoes

He found something at the Rummage Sale

Balboa Park

Running through the Garden
Oliver and I had a nice day together. Daddy had to work so it was just Oliver and I! We went for a long run in the morning, Mama kept running because Oliver fell asleep, and she wanted him to keep sleeping! We came home and had a nice lunch and got ready for the day. We went to Balboa Park and walked around and also went to a rummage sale, it wasn't that good, but we got a nice book. We stopped by our favorite coffee shop on the way home, and sat on the couch together and read the paper.
In the evening, Oliver ate a yummo dinner and then we went to Rico's to pick up food for Mama and Daddy--Daddy was hungry when he got home from work. Oliver likes going to Rico's, everyone talks to him there and he likes the two guys behind the counter. They always ring the bell for him! When we came home Daddy was finally there and we ate dinner with him, Oliver gave us kisses and fell asleep pretty fast.

Pink Friday

Teacher's from Mama's school!

All the supporters, it was like that on both sides of
the bridge.

Oliver and his flag.

Happy Man!

This pic is at home, he is saying hi to toots,
but it shows his shirt better- "No Future Cuts"
Because Oliver is our future!

Today Oliver woke up in a laughing mood. He helped Mama get ready and then he went to Stephanie's. He had fun, I don't think he napped well, but he came to a rally with Mama to make people aware of the budget cuts to schools and education that are taking place. He wore a special t-shirt that a couple teacher's at Mama's school helped design and he waved the pink flag. (Pink represents all the pink slips that school districts are handing out.) We stood on the Twin Oaks over pass. Oliver knew something excited was happening, because of all the support from people honking their horns and saying hurray! He proudly waved his flags and also watched the big trucks pass below on the 78! He is such a good helper!
When we got home he ate a yummo dinner and played a lot with daddy and Uncle Joey who had a special sweatshirt that made him look like a character from Star Wars. (Oliver is so lucky he can learn all about Star Wars from his Uncle some day!) He is sleeping well now in his monkey pajamas.
P.S. If you would like to take action and do something positive for schools, I have attached a link that has letters you can modify and send to local lawmakers! Oliver and I will be working on ours this weekend!
Look under resources there are letters to local San Marcos Reps and also to California's Governor.
