New Year's Eve

Ready to get in the Barbie Car
Karin and Grammie helping Oliver

Lightening McQueen on the Wall!

The murals are the best!
Oliver had a fantastic day! He played in the morning and then we went over to Grammie and Grandpas! Oliver played for a bit with them while Mommy went to the Y then Grammie, Oliver and Mommy went to get Oliver's haircut! We had to wait a bit so we ate lunch together and hung out at our favorite coffee shop and went in our very favorite Hallmark store! Oliver was ready for the "Barbie Car" we had to wait for a bit longer because another boy was getting his haircut... When it was Oliver's turn he did an awesome job! Karin said we should videotape Oliver because he is a great example of how a child's haircut should go! (Even though he wouldn't get in right away---I had to tell him he could play "Connor's Song" on the radio in the car--which is "Life is A Highway!") He had fun and got something from the treasure box. Grammie had fun watching her little buddy too!
After we came home and played with Daddy. We had to visit Henry's to get our seafood collection which we wanted to eat on New Year's Eve. Oliver did an awesome job with the cart and people were very impressed. He is very considerate of the other shoppers! When an aisle was clear though he would pretend he was "Dinoco" the blue Lightening McQueen car! He was so fast!
We had a great evening and everyone in the McCain household is getting ready for bed (7:30 pm not 12:00 am....)
Happy New Year's Oliver Followers!

"This Nostril"

Mommy's three boys at the campground

Oliver had a pretty good day. He played around the house and then we went over to visit Grammie and Grandpa. Oliver stayed for a bit while Mommy went to the Y. We played together later, Oliver didn't have a nap this afternoon and was a bit fussy because he has a cold. When he wants his nose wiped he points and says, "this nostril." Mommy taught him that yesterday- its pretty cute! He played with Daddy outside when Daddy got home from his long hike in San Pasqual.
In the evening he ate some yummies, took a nice bath with Mommy, read one of our favorite books, and went to ni-ni. Sweet dreams Oliver.

Wild Animal Park

Oliver and Daddy spent the day together (while Mommy was very ill with the tummy flu.) Oliver and Daddy went to the Wild Animal Park with Grandma. They had fun in the petting zoo, seeing the lions and gorillas and playing on the awesome playground. They even saw a bird show and Oliver had a sip of Daddy's "pop!"
Later Oliver took a great nap, went to Home Depot with Daddy and ate out with Daddy. When they came home Oliver played around Mommy's bed and fed her mountain water from a pencil and fed her pretend food to make her feel better. He is such a sweetie pie.
Daddy and Oliver had a wonderful day together.

Oliver's Great Grandpa Dean passed away last night at Grammie and Grandpa's house.
Great Grandpa lived a long full life and is now at peace.
Oliver was able to meet his Great Grandpa this summer and over the last few days he
was able to blow sweet kisses to Great Grandpa....those kisses are the best.
We will miss him and Mommy will make sure that everyone tells Oliver lots of
stories about his great grandparents.

Pajama Monster

Beautiful Sunrise- Daddy captured this..Mommy and Oliver were still sleeping
Wow!

Taking a break- Watching part of "Cars"
Oliver had a great day. In the morning he played with his new toys and ate breakfast with Mommy and Daddy. He spent another day in his pajamas (Mommy thinks maybe we need to get some more for variety!) We went to the Y afterwards and he got to see his favorite Childwatch lady, Donna! He told me he read a duck book with her (he probably told her about his new pet duck too!). Afterwards we went on a few errands and Oliver got to see his Grandpa for a sec while Mommy ran in to see Grammie. Afterwards we came home and played- no nap today, just some moments of rest.
In the evening Oliver and Mommy went to the grocery store to get some essentials. We played the claw machine after we were done, and guess what??? Mommy won a reindeer for Oliver! Geez Louises...maybe Mommy should enter a contest! Oliver is now reading with his Daddy and getting ready for bed.

Oliver had a wonderful day with family. In the morning Aunt Kalyn and Uncle Joey arrived first, they were a wonderful Christmas present. Then Grandma arrived and following were Aunt Katy and Uncle Scooter--fun, fun! We all ate breakfast and opened gifts. Oliver got a snowglobe and lightening McQueen car from Santa he was so excited! He was really impressed by the letter that Santa wrote to him and Oliver ate the leftover crumbs that Santa left behind. He was also very impressed by the duck that Daddy gave to him and Mommy. The McCain ranch is really becoming established!
Around noon we went to Grammy and Grandpa's house. We saw all the Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents. Oliver loved playing with his old toys and would take a break from them to check out the new ones he was receiving. It was pretty cute. He had a wonderful time and when we left he blew some sweet kisses to his Great Grandpa who was resting in his bed.
Oliver had a sweet 3rd Christmas.

House on Romeria Street

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve. Oliver and Mommy started the morning at the Y, playing with Aunt Jessica and seeing the many regulars in the lobby! After the Y we ran a couple errands and visited with Grammie and Grandpa for a few minutes. Oliver got to see Uncle Matthew and play for a few. After we came home to play and take a nap.

Grandma came over around 4:00 to celebrate Christmas Eve, Oliver woke up soon after and was excited to see his Grandma. A few minutes later Aunt Katy and Uncle Scooter came over. We all had a great time making Gingerbread Houses (barns, outhouses, sheds, trucks...) It is not as easy at is seems! We had so much fun- laughing and watching Oliver eat all the goods and pour all the sprinkles. It was a blast! Oliver also let Mommy, Aunt Katy, and Grandma know that it was Christmas- he came into the kitchen and said, "Merry Christmas!!!" with a lot of gusto and pure happiness.

After Oliver and Mommy drove over to Grammie and Grandpa's to bring them some treats for tonite and for when they wake up on Christmas morning. Grammie and Grandpa were excited to see Oliver and when we left he blew a kiss to Great Grandpa Dean who was sleeping. Oliver can't wait for tomorrow morning to visit with family and see what Santa brought him!
