McCain Boys in the pool
We had another great sunny day!!! Oliver and Mama went on a walk in the morning. We saw horses and dogs! Oliver loves being outside. Then we did a bunch of errands with Daddy to get ready for Oliver's birthday party!!!
Later in the day, after his nap, Oliver went swimming with Grandpa and Daddy. They had fun lounging in the pool! Oliver got a kick out of being in the pool with two of his favorite people! For dinner we went to Souplantation. Yum, Yum. Oliver inhaled the Macaroni and Cheese. Oliver and his parents are enjoying their relaxing vacation....

Whoa Baby!
Oliver and his Train
Whoa, Oliver had a fun, full day! In the morning, his grandparents gave him an early birthday present, a train!!! (Similar to his lightning mccain car!) He loves it!
While Mama went to Aunt Allison's bridal shower, Daddy took Oliver to Aunt Katy's work. He got to meet lots of special people, some minature ponies, and a few doggies!!! Then he got to come to Grammie's house where the after party came, Daddy stayed too! Oliver got to see his silly Aunt Jessica and soon to be bride Aunt Allison. He ran around and played a lot, while we ran around after him. (We realize how important baby proofing your home is!!!)
He came home and took a long nap. Then woke up to see his fun,fun Uncle Joey and kind Kalyn. We had nice dinner and then Daddy took Oliver swimming. Oliver is getting used to the coolerwater... we will try again tomorrow. Busy little day.

San Diego!
Boys looking out the window on the plane.
Mt. Ranier
Mt. Hood in Oregon
We made it! Oliver had a great plane ride, he played at the begining and then fell asleep in Mama's arms. He woke just in time to look out the window!!! (Daddy looked out the window the whole time, his brain is like a map he knows where everything is and what it is! Pretty cool!)
He got to play with his grandparents, saw his unle Joey at his Dojo, hugged his beautiful aunt Katy, and played with his Grammie Wietzke. He had a full day of exploration, family, and is so excited for more!!!

Big Boy
Happy to face forward!
I see him better now!!!
It was so comfortable, he fell asleep...
Today we tried out Oliver's new car seat. When I put him in the seat and took a little drive he started to laugh! He really likes everything he sees! I think that he likes seeing his Mama!
We had a good day,we went for a really long, long run with Ranger. Then kind of hung around the house the rest of the day! Getting ready for our trip to California!

Today
Oliver driving his car into the pantry
Today we had a good day. Oliver helped Mama with chores in the morning, then we went to get a big boy car seat at Babies r Us. We are going to try it out tomorrow. We had a nice dinner at home, he played a little with Daddy, and went for a nice long walk with Mama. He did not go to sleep easily, Mama had to drive him around the block, and then he fell asleep pretty quickly.

Unloading the dishwasher!
Oliver getting a closer look.
Oliver has been very busy, he loves to explore and play. Today he helped me fill and empty the dishwasher!!! Then right before bedtime he played with the big silver can, he had so much fun. He dragged it all around the house and put things in it. He loves containers!!!

Doors and Combs
Oliver looking out at Ranger
Oliver has been doing some really cute things! He will take his comb or my brush and try to comb his hair. He can open doors if they are left open ajar, and he can close them. He can turn on and off lights with help, and he will take our cell phones, open them and try and put it to his ear. (Mike was missing his phone the other day and he found it in the heating vent! Hmmm, I wonder how it got there?) He can help put his arms in his sleeves and sometimes he tries to put his shoes and socks on, he just kind of sets them on his feet. Oliver really likes to try to do things on his own! He is such a big boy!

Another Boo-Boo
Playing Ball in the house
Goofy Daddy...
Hula Hoop Man
Loves his sunglasses...
Boo boo on his knee...
We had a nice day today. Daddy left early to go to Thorton Lakes for a hike with some of his friends. Mommy and Oliver spent the day together. We went for a nice long run with Ranger, and saw some really cool old cars at a car show in downtown Burlington, when we were running. Then we drove over to Mount Vernon and met my friend Carol. Her daughter was playing in a softball tournament. Oliver had fun exploring baseball fields and people's coolers.
Tonite Oliver was playing with his Daddy, they were playing ball against the wall in the living room. Nice!!! Oliver has also been trying to use Mama's hula hoop. (He sees her do it a lot, so he wants to try!) We went for a short walk, and then Oliver played in the front yard while Mommy talked to a neighbor. Oliver was hanging out with some of the neighborhood kids too! He fell and skinned his little knee on the driveway. Mama comforted him and he was better real quick, but he has a little boo boo on his knee.

Berry Dairy Day Run and Fish
Can you spot Oliver and Mama's ponytail?
The last stretch! Oliver is sleeping!
Proud Mama!
This morning Oliver and I ran our 1st 10K as part of the Berry Dairy Days. I ran hard while Oliver slept! I got 1st place in my age division for females (19-29)! Yeah!!! The rest of the day I just relaxed...
Oliver went to a fun dramatization of the revolutionary(?) war with his Daddy. Daddy's friend takes part in it, they got to watch tomahawk demonstrations and rifle demonstrations! We all went to a new brewery for dinner, Oliver doesn't like to go to nice restaurants! We may be having picnics at home for a while!
To wind down Oliver had a nice warm bath and Mama and him went for a nice long walk! It was a nice Saturday.
Yesterday I forgot to mention something pretty cool! Daddy went fishing really early and brought home a trout and a salmon. We ate the trout for breakfast yesterday morning, since Daddy came back by 9:00am. Oliver loved the fish and came back for more!!! He is going to love fishing with his Daddy.

Berry Dairy Days and Fireworks
Today we had another lazy, relaxing day. Oliver played a lot. The picture I included was this morning his "health nut" diaper that does not fit that well fell off when he was running down the hall. He tried to put it back on himself! So clever!
He is getting his top left tooth in and he is a bit fussy. He also has a runny nose, that we are trying our hardest to tend too. (It is icky!)
For dinner we rode our bikes to the park, there is a festival going on this weekend, so there were food vendors there! We ate hamburgers, fries, and little ice cream cones! Oliver had fun running around, chasing after bigger kids' soccer balls. (Of course I didn't have my camera with me, I need to start thinking like a photographer and have it with me wherever we go!) He is such an explorer, only content when he can run off and look around. He does not like to be constrained. (As anyone who has ever tried to put him in his car seat would know!!!)
There are fireworks tonite at the park too! Mike and I will watch them from our deck, while Oliver sleeps. (Hopefully he stays asleep!)

The Airport Trail
On the Trail, looking comfortable.
The Deer.
Oliver looking at the Deer.
This morning Oliver and I went to the Skagit County- Airport Trail to run. It was awesome. There were tons of connecting trails on dirt/gravel paths. We saw a deer, Oliver has really good eyes just like his Daddy and could see what I was showing him. He even tried to say "deer." We will go back soon!
The rest of the day we just hung around the house and did some chores and played together. He never runs out of things to play with, he has a great imagination.

Anniversary
Happy Family (After the Jingle Bell Run in Seattle/December)
Today was our 3rd Anniversary. We had a nice dinner at home, with Oliver running around the house in his diaper! We had a wonderful day. Mommy is finally done moving out of her classroom. We went for a run in the morning and a bike ride again after dinner. We rode to the boat ramp and watched the river flow by us. Oliver loves riding with both Mommy and Daddy because he gets to see Mama ride next to him. He talks to me and laughs, it is so darn cute!
(I still can't find the camera....I will try my hardest tomorrow)

Another Sunny Day
Oliver and Daddy working on his truck around 6 months old.
Today Oliver played with his buddies at daycare. (Mama is finishing with her classroom, a lot of work, packing up!) He had so much fun with the older kids...they played all day. Oliver is getting used to walking in grass, the texture is so different, from hard floors and cement.
After dinner we went for another bike ride and then we all got in bed really early. Oliver had a good day.
I can't find my camera today, so I am posting another old picture, but it is one of my favorites.

Father's Day
Today was a nice sunny day! We woke up early and made Daddy breakfast. Then we went for a nice long run, and let Daddy relax. Later we went for a nice little hike at Deception State Park and Bowman Bay. Oliver had a great nap in the car.
For dinner we made seafood on the BBQ, and had a nice relaxing evening. Our friends came over and Oliver had fun showing them all his toys. He is sleeping now...little angel..
I brought the camera today but left the card in the computer so I am putting a picture from 2 days ago.

Bike Ride and the River
Getting his P.J.'s Dirty
Going to check out our bikes
"Running" down an incline!
Today was a nice day. Mike had to work, so Oliver, Ranger and I went running in the morning together. Then we cleaned the house and Oliver took a nice nap after we vacuumed together. We did some errands together, which he loves because he sees so many things and gets to socialize with people!
After dinner we went for a bike ride. We rode over to the park and up on the dike. We went to the river bank and threw sticks for Ranger into the river. Oliver had fun watching his doggy get crazy with sticks, and he had fun getting his pjs dirty! It was a nice day! (Great start to summer vacation!)

Naked and Sweeping
Oliver Sweeping in his robe.
Oliver without his robe... He took it off and tried
to stash it in his car.
Oliver had a good day. He spent the morning with Daddy and then came to Mama's classroom after her students left for summer vacation. Oliver helped Mama with packing all of her boxes and "filing" (unfiling) her papers! We had a wonderful day together!
At night we all went on a bike ride. First to the swings! Then we heard some RC race cars at a track by the park so we rode over there. On the way we saw a group of cows so we said "Moo" and introduced Oliver to cows... He liked them! Then we went and watched the RC cars, it was fun and Oliver liked them a lot! He may have to try it out in the future.

School Boy
Can you find Oliver?
Going for a night bike ride.
Oliver came to my class today, tomorrow is the last day, so he said bye to the kids. He had fun, my classroom is in shambles, I am packing to move to a new school. Oliver had fun pulling apart my piles and stuff. When we got home he went for another 5 mile run with mama and doggy, then a bike ride with daddy. Lucky Oliver!

Sounds
He can put his leg over his car and sit on it.
(He hasn't figured out how to move it on his own.)
Oliver has been making a lot of funny sounds lately. He likes to copy sounds we make, but has also been making some up on his own. It is pretty cute! He will also move his head with his noises.
He is feeling better, been playing a lot with his friends and at home. Today on our 5 mile run he ate an entire string cheese! (Ranger didn't even try to smell it or take it!)

Oliver loves his Daddy and Doggy
Oliver was feeling better today. He was playing like he usually does, and was having fun with his friends at daycare. Once we got home he played with his daddy. They hung outside and threw toys for Ranger. As you can see in the picture, Oliver is getting to know the sling toy! I took the picture from the inside, so it is a bit blurry, but it is still pretty cute!

Last Night
Sleeping Oliver when he was about a month old.
Oliver did not feel very good last night, he kept waking up every hour, his nose was getting stuffy. He just did not feel good, I looked for the Baby Tylenol and there was no more. So at 4:00 in the morning, Oliver and I went on an excursion. (We were both wide eyed anyways!) We went to Haggens (open 24 hours-yea) and got some medicine for baby, along with a couple other things. (It is sort of fun being the only customer in a huge supermarket!)
Once Oliver got his tylenol in his car seat, he already seemed better. He slept when we got home, and I even got to sleep for an hour!!!
Nights like those are hard, but when I look back on it the next day, I savor the time that I had with my little munchkin in the wee hours...Just me and him.
(We took Oliver to the doctor tonite, just to make sure he is okay. I told her my myraid of concerns and she made me feel better about everything. His ears are clear, his glands are fine, he is a healthy baby who just likes to get into a lot of things!!!)

Birthday Party
Oliver and Annabelle Sharing
Oliver and Daddy doing "the cheese"
Today Oliver went to his friends birthday party. His friend, Nate, turned 1! He celebrated it at The Little Gym. Oliver had tons of fun! (Nate is the little guy in the orange shirt in the background of "the cheese" picture.) Oliver enjoyed running around, climbing on mats, playing with the parachute, playing with balls, eating icing from a cupcake, drinking juice from a drink box, and more!!! We think he got a bit overstimulated after awhile, he got a little fussy, but he was still playing and having fun!
We had a great day!!!

Eat!
Oliver loves to eat. Tonite I gave him some of my meatloaf and also gave him his baby lasagna. He really enjoys feeding himself, and was getting quite upset with me, I must be to slow. He wanted to be in charge of the jar, so I let him. (He was already very messy...) Check out the video!
Of course after that escapade he needed a bath. So Oliver got one. I let him run around the house in just his robe, he really enjoyed that!
He had a great day, his top tooth has cut through the gums, so that is most likely the cause of the fever the other day. Poor baby. He likes his new tooth though!

Feeling Better
Today Oliver spent the day with Daddy. They hung around the house all day, they did some real vacuuming and dishes, both chores that Oliver loves! Oliver took a good nap in the running stroller when Mama ran with him and Ranger.
Oliver had a pretty normal day. He is recuperating from his fever, doing a lot better.
The picture is from the other day. He loves his red bowl. He puts things inside it and walks around the house with it. He played with it today too!

Fever
Oliver's Vacuum Cleaner
Oliver using his vacuum, it talks to him!
Last night Oliver got a fever, when we woke up this morning it was 102 degrees. Oliver was not very comfortable. Mama decided to stay home with baby (my friends at work are wonderful, they made sure my 2nd graders got off on their field trip to the beach!). Oliver still feels a little warm, but seems much better. He was lovey all day and he took 2 2hour naps with Mama laying with him.
He found time to play during the day, when he was feeling better! As you can see in the pictures. (Mama is secretly training him...)

Feeling Much Better
Peeking in his cabinet of goodies.
Eureka! He has found treasure!
Oliver is feeling much better today after his little boo boo. He had a great day with Jill and LuLu, his buddy. When he got home, Oliver played and explored as you can see in the above pictures. He later went for a bike ride with Daddy and Ranger. He is now sleeping soundly, aaahhhh my baby....

Boo-Boo
Today Oliver hurt his gums. Oliver was eating some string cheese at Jill's house and he fell forward, and kind of bit his gums, making them bleed. Oh baby.... That is the first time he has bled from an accident. Oh my poor baby.... So Mommy went and picked him up and spent the rest of the day with him. We called the Doctor's office and talked to a nurse and she said what to do to make it feel better. I think the best prescription for his pain was his Mama!
He is asleep now and feeling better.

Monday
Oliver has a great day. He got to see his buddies this morning at Jill's house, and he got to go see all the school buses and children at my school. When we got home he went for a run with Mommy and Ranger and then he played a bit around the house. We went for a drive and he fell asleep on the way home. He woke up long enough for Mommy to put a new diaper and his doggy pants on him. He is such a cuddle bug when he sleeps.

Oliver's 1st Trip to the Zoo
Checking out an exhibit
Looking at the Gorillas
Today was a great day. We woke up early and drove to Seattle. We visited the Woodland Park Zoo. We were there when the gates opened! Perfect for seeing active animals! Oliver loved every second of it! We saw gorillas, anteaters, bats, grizzly bears, a wolf, a fox, turtles, flamingos, lots of monkeys and more!!! We are even sure that Oliver said "turtle" 3 times. Oh how much fun!
Afterwards, we took Grandma and Aunt Katy to the airport. :( We had fun with them while they were here, and we all miss them already!
