Babysitting our Buddy

Greeting each other- Danielle went straight to Oliver's shirt
and said, "Elephant!"Going through the toy box!

Happy with Elmo, and happy in Owl's boots

Two Cutie Patooties

Relaxing on the couch

Oliver had a good day! Daddy picked him up at Jan's and then they met Mommy in old Encinitas. Oliver and Mommy made their way to Danielle's house for a babysitting date. We played with Danielle while her Mommy and Daddy went out on a date- before the baby boy comes- any day now.... We had so much fun. The two friends play so nicely together, they ate dinner together, they played hide from Mommy/Meredith and they sat together towards the end of the night and watched Sesame Street and Oswald. It was fun! (We can't wait to babysit again when Danielle has her baby brother there!)

Another Day with Daddy

My Little Sleeping Oliver
Oliver went to Jan's today and played with his friends. Then Daddy picked him up and they played. Mommy went out with Eileen and Akane without the kiddos- Eileen's baby boy is about to come so we went for a little dinner. Daddy and Oliver ate pizza for dinner and had fun together. Toys were strewn throughout the house and Sesame Street was left on the television when Mommy came home. The boys were sleeping. They are so cute.

"Leave Me Alone"

Getting a sucker from the bank teller, she always asks
where Oliver is....

Reading an animal book with Daddy
Pumpkins from Mommie's Field Trip to Bate's Nut Farm
Mommy's partner, Amanda!
Mommy should be a photographer!!!
Oliver loves Amanda!
Oliver had a good day at Jan's, except right before naptime- Jackson bit Oliver! Oliver did not retaliate and bite back, which is great! Mommy picked him up and they went to the bank then home to play and eat dinner. Oliver was playing in his room and Mommy came in and he said, "Leave me alone." He wanted to play on his own, so Mommy let him for awhile and then came back. He is reading with his Daddy now and will got to bed in a few minutes.
**Mommy went on a field trip with K, 1, and 2 at her school today to a pumpkin patch. She had to post a few pictures (none with the kiddos....) but they show what a nice day it is!

Tuesday

Oliver when he was only a few days old.
Bhuta is holding him!
Oliver had a much, much better day. Daddy got him ready in the morning, they were talking about the mountains and the rain (yes it was raining!) and they had fun getting ready together. On the way to Jan's, Oliver was talking about the clouds and the "mountains" by Lake Hodges. He had a good day at Jan's and then Daddy picked him up (its Tuesday, Mommy works late!) Daddy and Oliver went to the park to visit the ducks and went out to eat. They were both sleeping in Oliver's room when Mommy got home! (So no new pictures! But enjoy the old one!)

Fussy Monday

Boys Sleeping on the couches
Oliver had a good day at Jan's, but when Mommy picked him up he was fussy. Mommy thinks that he gets the Monday blues after spending a long weekend with Mommy. Something has gotta change! (Mommy will now pick him up right after school and he can come back with her! Fussy Mondays are no fun for anyone!)
Oliver layed on the couch tonite with Mommy and watched Sesame Street to relax. Then Daddy came while Mommy showered. When Mommy was done, this is how she found both of them! So cute!

Help from Oliver and Daddy

Mommy's Boys hard at work
Daddy and Oliver putting up Mommy and Amanda's # line

Relaxing in the shoe section at Nordstrom
(Glad he knows how to relax....Mommy needs to work on that!)
Another busy day for the McCain bunch! Oliver and Mommy started the day at the Y, and then went to Mommy's classroom. Oliver helped Mommy and Amanda get their new classroom ready. No more teaching in a big gym where noise echos and it is chaotic----yeah!!!
Daddy and Oliver left after they put up Mommy's number line and put some boxes away. (Bhuta put up Mommy's really, really long number line in Washington the summer Oliver was born. He did such a great job, it is still up there for another teacher to use!) So, they left and Oliver took a nap.
When Mommy "finished" (the classroom is really a work in progress) she came home to clean and then go to the mall with Oliver to get some nice shoes for a special event next weekend. Oliver was a great helper and rode in his old stroller. We came home, ate dinner, took a bath, and went ni-ni.

Sneak Preview

Roar- I'm a Dino
Scaly Back

Roaring some more....
Oliver had a fantastic day with his Daddy. Mommy and Grandma were working on some very important stuff- that took longer than expected, so Oliver and Daddy had a great adventure all day long!
In the morning they played, then went to get some scuba gear (yippee!). Afterwards they went to try on Halloween costumes and they found exactly what they've been looking for! A Dinosaur costume! The pictures tell the story- Oliver loves it and is having fun playing Dinosaur in it!
Later they brought Mommy and Grandma some dinner then they escaped to the pumpkin patch down the street from Grandma's house. They had a blast on the slide, Oliver remembers it from last year and has been talking about it ever since he saw the patch being set up! He had a great day with his Daddy!

A Friday Tribute to Bhuta

Michele and Gene- November 2006
Daddy and Mommy- November 2006
(Ferry Boat is behind all of us!)

Mommy is still missing Bhuta a lot and is thinking about more memories to tell Oliver, but she wanted to add this tribute to Bhuta today because it is Friday.
Grandma and Bhuta visited Mommy and Daddy in Washington when Mommy was a little over two months pregnant with Oliver. We had fun hanging out together and went on a ferry boat adventure one day. We took the ferry boat to Friday Harbor one of the San Juan Islands. We all had fun being cold, watching the beautiful scenery in the sound, looking for a good fish and chips restaurant and stumbling upon a little rummage sale (which Bhuta was very interested in an old phonograph....). It was a beautiful day, a beautiful memory....

Today Oliver and Mama were very, very busy! We started the day with Mama getting blood drawn just to get everything checked up, Oliver sat in Mama's lap and was completely fascinated with the needle and the blood taken from Mama, pretty cool! Then we went to the Y and to playwerks where we saw our good friends! We saw Grammie for a few minutes, went to Grandma's house and played-made a mess, and then took her somewhere! Oliver had fun singing his songs, showing Grandma what he sees in the car and listening to Grandma and Mommy talk! Afterwards, on the way home we stopped by Aunt Ali's house to see her new tile! (We haven't been there in a few months!)
We were so busy and Oliver still didn't nap so we ran a few more errands, then came home to eat, relax, bathe, and fall asleep. Daddy came home from the mountains right before Oliver went to sleep, he was happy to see his Daddy, but wanted to go to sleep. Sweet dreams Oliver.

Saying Goodbye...

Buddies- Last August

Bhuta and Oliver- Last August

Today we said goodbye to Bhuta. Oliver's presence was there in Mommy and Daddy's hearts. Bhuta is buried in a beautiful place close to his son, Tommy. We miss Bhuta and we will always keep his memory alive. He was very special to us and Oliver was so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to really know his Bhuta.
We love you to the moon and back Bhuta.
