The Easter Bunny came to our tree house last night! Oliver woke up and said, "Look what I found!" He proceeded to walk through the hallway and found eggs leading up to our bed and then went back and found them all the way to his booster seat! He was so excited! He ate all the candy- the Easter bunny made sure it wasn't too much and then we all took off for the Stone Brewery- it is only 2 1/2 miles from our house!

We had fun waiting to enter the beautiful garden area. Everything at the brewery is made from recycled materials and it is so neat! Daddy got some good ideas for our nest! Oliver had fun finding eggs (we even got a free coupon for a pale ale chiplotle mustard from their store!)- it was very fair- everyone got 7 eggs (they divided how many children were there with the number of eggs they put out in the garden- it made the hunt fun and not stressful!!!) After we hung out in the garden and played and drank a couple of their brews....for Easter breakfast!!!

After we came home and Grandma came over- we had fun eating lunch together, playing with Oliver, Daddy hid some eggs for Oliver and Grandma and they searched together to find them, we went for a walk to the water tower, ate strawberry shortcake using our berries we picked this week, and watched a bit of Cars. It was great!

Then, Grammie and Grandpa came over after Grandma left and we had fun playing for a bit. Oliver had a great time showing Grandpa all the toys in the playroom and in his bedroom. And he loved his new lightening McQueen hat and underwear Grandpa gave him! (Grandma gave him a Lightening McQueen blanket!) After they left we had fun playing more, doing our nightly routine, and finally going to sleep. Great Easter Sunday!

(Happy one year Anniversary Kalyn and Joey!)

Easter Egg Hunt

Look how many people- this is only part of the 2 and under crowd!

He found an egg....

Eggs, eggs, eggs (at one moment he had a bout 4 in his arms!)

On a mission!

Easter Egg hunts are fun....and slightly crazy!

He is so excited to get another check to put in his savings

Playing with his new hamster

We colored more eggs- our chicken's eggs! His hands got so green!

Oliver had a fantastic day! In the morning he padded into Mommy and Daddy's room, climbed into their bed and cuddled with Mommy. He is so sweet in the morning! We ate breakfast and then took off for the Y! We wanted to get there early because the Easter Egg Hunt started at 10 in the park next to the Y. We got there just in time- we played and exercised. While Mommy ran on the treadmill she could see the parking lot become a crazy maze of cars coming in for the egg hunt!

After we played and exercised we raced over to the park. It was fun holding hands and walking towards the hunt. It was broken up by age group and we did it with the 2 and under. There were so so many people....it was CRAZY!!! But Oliver got about 10 eggs and had fun. (Sometimes it was a bit scary because there were so many people, but we took a respite after to look at our eggs and to give each other egg kisses and hugs!) Then we walked back to the festivities and got some free stuff, looked at all the games (but didn't go in to play-too many people...), and Oliver got to climb into an ambulance and investigate- FUN!!!

Then we stopped by Grammie and Grandpa's house to visit. They gave Oliver a Easter basket- he played with his new hamster, carrot bubbles, and new Easter spinner. Then we danced and danced to our Hullabaloo CD for Grandpa! He loved it!

We came home and took a rest, played, cleaned the house together (Oliver sprayed water on the deck and on the porch he sprayed all the spots of chicken poop on the porch!) Then we did our nightly routine and are ready for ni-ni! We've got to get our rest for the Stone Brewery Easter Egg Hunt first thing in the morning!

A series of cute two 1/2 year old pics....

Oliver had a great Friday! We woke up early and made our way to the Y! We dropped off our Pre-school paperwork and then played and exercised! Oliver loves the Y!

After we went to visit our playgroup in the lumberyard in downtown Encinitas. We haven't seen all of them since October! There were a few new babies, a new belly bump, and taller two year olds. It was fun seeing everyone. Oliver had a great time. We came home to take an awesome nap and play around the house.

We are now getting ready for our nightly routine! We want to get an early start to the Y's Easter Egg Hunt in the morning!

Oliver had a wonderful Thursday with Mommy! We woke up and then made our way to the Y. We went on a tour of the preschool together. Oliver loved it and didn't want to leave! He will fit in wonderfully! (We just need to make sure he is potty trained! We will be working on it!) After we took the tour- he talks about the classrooms and his favorite parts! He went to play and Mommy went to exercise. Then we hung out at the Lego table and played, it was really nice. We made our way home after a couple of errands and took a nice rest on the little couch. We played all afternoon and then did an art project together.
First we went outside and took a picture and investigated the cherry blossom tree that Daddy planted. We looked at the pretty flowers and the small cherries. Then we came inside to make our own on paper with popcorn! We got our new Tomie Depoala popcorn book that we've been reading, then made popcorn together on the stove (that is how we always make it!), then we glued it on the tree that we drew and cut out together. It was so much fun! (We made tons of connections with nature, popcorn, art......it was awesome!)
After our project we ate dinner, took a bath, brushed our teeth, did our stickers and now Oliver is sleeping. It was a great day!
